A colourful, garden-party Spring wedding at Rackleys Barn.
In May 2026, we ventured back to the gorgeous Rackleys Barn in Chiltern Hills to capture N&A tying the knot, on one of the hottest days of the year.
One of the first things we did was put together a flat lay and some detail shots using their beautiful, hand-painted invites and everything we could find connected to them and the stunning day they'd planned. Of course we also had to pop Nancy's shoes on the bike basket outside, which had been filled with flowers to match their decor.
Their morning passed in a blur, which we spent capturing Nancy getting ready with her bridesmaids, Alex and the groomsmen putting the finishing touches on their outfits on the mezzanine in the barn, and multiple first looks with Alex's mum, Nancy's dad and her bridesmaids.
The barn looked fantastic, dressed with homemade bunting, colourful wildflowers and vases and the trademark fairy lights. Alex made his own entrance into the ceremony before Nancy and her bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the string quartet playing from the mezzanine.
Their ceremony was super sweet and personal, performed by a friend of the family, with readings and their adorable dog as ring bearer, and was quickly followed by a confetti tunnel outside and group photo of all their guests. We jumped straight into their formal photos, keeping everyone shaded and getting them back to the drinks reception as soon as possible.
After an editorial bridal party shot - which we loved putting together - we spent 5 minutes with N&A capturing some afternoon portraits before heading back inside to the cool barn, with plans to head out again in the evening for some golden hour photos.
Their whole wedding had the cutest garden party vibe and the rest of their drinks reception and speeches absolutely flew by - before we knew it, we were back outside with these two, exploring the fields as the sun began to set - such a relaxed way to end the day in an absolutely breathtaking setting.
Afterwards, N&A shared their father/ daughter and mother/ son dances, surrounded by their loved ones, which smoothly changed into their own first dance, complete with butterfly confetti cannons fired at the perfect moment. As always, we stayed to capture some crazy dance moves before saying goodbye to these guys and their wonderful wedding.
